Beethoven Senses:
Silent DiscO
“Beethoven Senses: Silent Disco” is a project by AyseDeniz. It is an immersive journey into Beethoven’s inner world, in which through headphones, the audience first enters into a party atmosphere hearing remixes of Beethoven's music, and then they sit down and watch the performance live, having the option to hear Beethoven's selected letters of love, death and friendship.
The project premiered in London on October 19th, 2018 with guest artist Benjamin Hughes (the Principal Cello of the BBC Concert Orchestra ) who performed with AyseDeniz some of the movements from his piano sonatas which they arranged for piano and cello together.
The letters were recited by Atilla Akinci. From the video below, you can experience an excerpt of Beethoven’s most famous love letter and his Moonlight Sonata Movement 1.
